Peach oolong tea reminiscent of summertime sunsets at the beach

This is a part of Sprig & Vine Favouritesa column of recommendations from our team on their favourite things to eat, drink, read, watch, and shop.

It’s summertime, which means it’s the season for stone fruit like mangoes, peaches, lychees, cherries, and nectarines. A lot has been said about mangoes and our obsession with it in India, but this year, I’ve developed a new appreciation for peaches. I love their sweet juicy tart flavour, and how it complements both savoury and sweet creations.

My love for peaches extends to peach flavoured tea as well. When it comes to choosing tea, I lean towards fruity, citrusy, spicy, and floral flavours, as compared to the more vegetal or herby ones. When I spotted the Peach Passion tea on the Teabox website, I knew I had to try it! Teabox described the taste as that of peaches, rose, lemongrass, and mint – an exciting combination of flavours!

I ordered myself a sample, which arrived in the mail this week. Their packaging is great, and I loved that it had details like brewing time and water temperature. The tea leaves contained specks of dried peach and rose petals, and brewed to a beautiful amber colour. The fruity flavour of peach is strong in this one and I totally loved it.

Drink it plain, add a squeeze of lemon and some honey, or pour it over ice with some lemonade for iced peach tea. Make afternoon teatime reminiscent of sunsets at the beach with a cup of this blend!
