I have a problem when it comes to drinking enough water. Apart from with meals or a workout, I don’t consume any other water throughout the day. I know how important it is to stay hydrated, especially during the hotter days, but just can’t bring myself to make it a habit to drink more water.
I’ve tried many things that people recommend to make this into a habit – kept a bottle of water near my bed, and downloaded an app on my phone that pings me reminders every couple of hours. Of course, I also have my mom who reminds me every day, without fail, that I need to “drink more water.”
The thing that has worked for me, is to make drinking water more interesting by infusing it with fruits and herbs. I keep a jug or bottle of infused water in the fridge during the summers, and come up with different combinations to change up the flavour. It’s really refreshing, and definitely a healthier option instead of grabbing a fizzy sugary drink to quench your thirst. Infuse fruits with sparkling water if you crave the fizz, minus the calories. If you want to spike it with booze for a summer party, I won’t tell.
