Quirky herb planters for a sunny kitchen windowsill

The best way to add instant freshness and flavour to any dish is by adding herbs. We can store jars of dried herbs in our spice rack, but sometimes they just don’t cut it. Dried herbs don’t add the same amount of vibrancy or taste that a few fresh sprigs do. Even when you buy herbs from the vegetable vendor, the bunches are usually so large that you don’t end up using it all, and it quickly turns to a slimy mess in the refrigerator.

Recently, I’ve been really keen on setting up a small, kitchen herb garden. It’s a great way to have few fresh herbs on hand whenever you’re cooking up something. My hesitation (or excuse) has always been that I don’t have enough space or know enough about gardening.

On my wishlist this week are these quirky handmade herb planters from The Wishing Chair. These pretty pastel-hued planters come in four types for parsley, basil, thyme and mint. A great starting point for someone new to gardening!

Place the planters on a well lit kitchen windowsill, or stash them on a patio. You can even hang them in a sunny nook or a small balcony. They are compact and stylish enough to fit near your cooking space, and will give you fresh herbs whenever you want!
